NEW YO Program: Developing YOur Cataract Practice

Developing YOur Cataract Practice will be our inaugural YO Lunch Event at the GEM meeting specifically geared towards young ophthalmologist (YOs). The goal of this lunch meeting is to provide YOs insight to overcome the challenges encountered in a young cataract surgeon's career.

Discussion topics include:

  • Increasing operating room efficiency
  • Incorporating new techniques and implementation: how, when, where
  • Structuring clinic: patient selection, dealing with pre-and post-op evaluations as surgical volume grows
  • Business matters: patient education materials, IOLs selection videos, contract with refractive surgeons for premium IOL patients, co-management
