The gala will honor Dr. Tom Harbin with the Scott Pastor Person of Vision Award, which is given in memory of Dr. Scott Pastor and recognizes leaders in Georgia for their vision and service to our community. Dr. Harbin, a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and related diseases, has received numerous awards for his outstanding leadership and dedication to preventing blindness.

The Scott Pastor Person of Vision Award recognizes the late Scott Pastor and his years of involvement with Prevent Blindness Georgia as a board co-chairman. Dr. Pastor designed and helped implement the Georgia Retinal Imaging Project (GRIP),a free community-based screening program for adults at high risk for aging eye diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. From 2010 through 2015, Dr. Pastor examined the retinal photos of over 5,200 Georgians helping hundreds of adults and seniors in need who would have otherwise suffered from potentially blinding eye diseases.
